I've always been fascinated by the intersection of technology and social change. I believe that technology can be a powerful tool for driving positive impact, and I'm passionate about helping learners develop the skills they need to use tech in this way. HOST: That's fantastic. And I know that technology is playing an increasingly important role in activism and social justice. Can you tell us a bit about some of the current industry trends in this area? GUEST: Sure. One big trend we're seeing is the rise of digital organizing, where activists are using social media and other online tools to mobilize supporters and drive action. We're also seeing a growing focus on cybersecurity, as organizations and individuals seek to protect themselves from online threats. HOST: Those are important trends, for sure. And I imagine there must be some challenges that come with learning and teaching this subject. Can you share a bit about what some of those challenges are? GUEST: One challenge is that the field is constantly evolving, so it can be hard to keep up with the latest tools and techniques. Another challenge is that there can be ethical and legal considerations to take into account when using technology for activism, so it's important to approach the subject with a critical and informed perspective. HOST: Those are great points. And finally, I'm curious what you think the future holds for this area. Where do you see tech activism and social justice going in the coming years? GUEST: I think we're going to see even more innovative uses of technology for social change.
